Muskee - Sky Songs On The Spot (1994)

The 1st trip to America for Radio Drenthe and the VPRO yielded inspiration and material for the CD "Sky Songs On The Spot" which was released in 1994. The title is taken from the LP "Sky Songs" from 1963 of Bukka White from Aberdeen, MS. This blues singer sat trapped in the infamous Parchman Farm for an attempted murder. Alan Lomax made recordings of Bukka White in prison. "Sky Songs "means that songs from the air come fall. You can pick them. A bit of a soaring harmonica + guitars and the characteristic sober voice of Muskee.Lyrics and music as a identical twin. The story of Bluesman sounds so simple, almost fatalistic about Harry Muskee and goes: at the Doom is almost not to escape.Mars-like pace in "At the end of the bar". which he in the café situated in Hofsteenge, his beloved stekkie Grollo. Frothy percussion in "Sky Song on the Spot" and he is so against the wind in singing, just as Jim Morisson of The Doors that could. Heartbreaking beautiful. Of the nine tracks on the CD Muskee wrote seven of them. The other two were written of Harry's Favorites "Tony Joe White - No news" and "S.A. Eaglin - It s Your Thing". John Lagrand, one of the founders of Livin' Blues was meanwhile become part of the group. His virtuoso harmonica game is prominently present.
