James William Guercio - Electra Glide In Blue (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (1973)

James William Guercio, born July 18, 1945 in Chicago, American producer, songwriter and musician, he also made a film "Electra Glide in Blue". 

Produced albums for artists such as Chicago, Blood, Sweat And Tears, The Buckinghams and Moondog 

Electra Glide in Blue is a 1973 American satirical black comedy action film, starring Robert Blake as a motorcycle cop in Arizona and Billy "Green" Bush as his partner. 

It was produced and directed by James William Guercio, and is named after the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle issued to traffic cops. 

The soundtrack was performed by members of the band Chicago and Madura , who also briefly appear; Guercio managed them at the time and produced many of their albums. 

The band that appeared in concert was Madura, although members of Chicago appeared in the film and also provided the sound track.

The rest of what you might find here would be typical of an early 70's soundtrack, wacka-wacka guitars and horn ensembles.

With dialogue from the film between the music tracks, the soundtrack album also tells (and spoils) the story of the film.

Guitarist Terry Kath does sing a tune "Tell Me" which is fantastic.

As for the music, the mix of folk rock and jazz didn't appeal mostly, but I used to listen to it to try and match up the dialogue with the photos in the booklet. 

The last track, "Tell Me", the closing track to the film, is my favourite. It meant much more once I'd finally seen Electra Glide In Blue.

Soundtrack - Black Panther: The Album (Music From And Inspired By) (2018)

A culturally momentous film directed by a black man, featuring a black lead actor and a predominantly black supporting cast, Marvel Studios' Black Panther is augmented with an album powered by Kendrick Lamar. 

It's an unprecedented convergence of the mainstream film industry with an uncompromising musician thriving commercially and artistically. Director Ryan Coogler sought Lamar out to contribute to the album, but the artist ended up involved with every track, credited in varying combinations as headliner, featured artist, co-songwriter, and co-producer, with long-term producer Sounwave a factor in all but three cuts. 

Subtitled "Music from and Inspired By," this is not a soundtrack in the strictest sense. 

Indeed, a significant portion of the content -- from whole tracks like the Travis Scott turn "Big Shot," to the part where Future quotes Juicy J's "Slob on My Knob" -- has no relation to the film, though there's a reflectively militant quality to a high percentage of the verses. 

Elements that are alternately obvious and subtle, including tribal-futuristic drums, audio-logo-like mentions of character names, and ululations (the last instance via the Weeknd on the despairing but proud finale), are threaded throughout to maintain the connection. 

They frame Lamar, a central figure as he proclaims his sovereign rank and examines its pitfalls -- not a stretch for him. 

The set has a major crossover single bid in the form of "All the Stars," an elegantly crafted SZA showcase that sounds at once like a defiant hero's anthem and a love theme. Another canny aspect in the album's assemblage is its inclusion of several artists from South Africa. 

The most notable appearance is made by Yugen Blakrok, "half-machine" Johannesburg native who boasts of "crushing any system that belittles us," references Millie Jackson, and leaves a pile of smoldering rubble in her wake. 

Lamar also enlists England's Jorja Smith and James Blake, and a Stateside crew that includes Mozzy, Ab-Soul, and Anderson Paak, as well as SOB x RBE, who, like Coogler, represent the Bay Area. 

Given the level of the performances, the majority of the guests evidently approached this as a Kendrick Lamar album, not as a soundtrack. Black Panther: The Album serves both purposes well.   [Black Panther: The Album [Music from and Inspired By] Review by Andy Kellman]

Cha Cha is the soundtrack to the 1979 Dutch film Cha Cha, written by Herman Brood and directed by Herbert Curiel. 

It features songs by Herman Brood and his band The Wild Romance, Nina Hagen, Lene Lovich, Les Chappell, and others. 

Upon its release, the soundtrack received positive reviews and was a commercial success in Netherlands where it peaked at number twenty-eight and was certified platinum by NVPI. The single "Never Be Clever" by Herman Brood & His Wild Romance was also successful in Dutch charts peaking at number ten. 

Brood at the end of his best period.

"Cha Cha" is a fairly loose, messy film, without a real storyline. Some sketches were thought up, but in terms of direction, they were just messing around.

Very vague, but that was also part of Herman Brood. The music is indeed entertaining and full of energy.

In that respect, besides Brood & The Wild Romance, Phoney & The Hardcore, The Meteors and White Honey were bands with potential. The Meteors had that little bit extra.

However, none of the bands really broke through.

Certainly also nice are the contributions of Nina Hagen and Lene Lovich (the one from My Lucky Number, yes.)

However, Brood was the star, the center and that is also reflected in the music.

As a rock band, The Wild Romance was unsurpassed at that time.

Of course they used drugs and drank excessively, but live they were rock solid.

"Cha Cha" is far from a memorable film, but the music is very okay.
