The Miracles (also known as Smokey Robinson and the Miracles from 1965 to 1972) were an American rhythm and blues vocal group that was the first successful recording act for Berry Gordy's Motown Records, and one of the most important and influential groups in pop, rock and roll, and R&B music history. Formed in 1955 by Smokey Robinson, Warren "Pete" Moore, and Ronnie White
The Miracles first solo album on their own without Smokey Robinson, although an overlooked and disrespected album. "Keep On Keepin' On" starts it all off and doesn't let up, to a few of my favorite tracks like the title song, and "Got Me Going (Again)". "Brokenhearted Girl, Brokenhearted Boy" tries to make a certain point (I myself know what it means).
"Gonna Tell The World" is a song for future wedding bliss (as some priviledged few will get to see). "You Are Love" ends the album on a positive note for your loved one being there for you at the end of your hard day.
Extremely rare but does not disappoint.
Attempting to ride the same formula that propelled "Do It Baby" up the R&B charts, the syrupy Don't Cha Love It, produced by Freddie Perren, falls short.
Perren used Christine Yarian as his primary lyricist on this collection, and her words simply fail to impact. The vocal arrangements, handled by Perren, didn't suit the Miracles' voices or style.
