The Buddy Miles Band - Chapter VII (1973)

George Allen Miles, Jr. (September 5, 1947 – February 26, 2008), known professionally as Buddy Miles, was an American rock drummer, vocalist, composer, and producer. He was a founding member of The Electric Flag (1967), a member of Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys (1969–1970), founder and leader of the Buddy Miles Express and later, the Buddy Miles Band.

Most noteably known as the drummer in Jimi Hendrix's Band of Gypsys, and The Electric Flag Buddy Miles also had a lengthy solo career that spanned 20 years and drew on rock, blues, soul, and funk influences.  Along the way he released over 10 solo albums and contributed to many others.
"Chapter VII" is a delicious funk soul album featuring the psychedelic funk classic "Life Is What You Make It".   The whole album is solid with lots of funky grooves, horns, acid guitar, soulful vocals and stunning drumming!
If you are a fan of Buddy Miles you must buy this! It is typical Buddy Miles, with a combination of rock, funk, and really great soulful blues. This original music was released in 1973 and has stood the test of time very well! I always enjoyed the music of Buddy Miles from his days in Electric Flag. The "Band of Gypsies" playing with Jimi Hendrix, and all of his solo work.
Buddy never let me down I could always get into his kind of music! If you know of Buddy Miles you must remember this music. The whole cd is great but the two standout tracks are track 1. L.A. Resurrection and also track 9.
There Was a Time . I can only hope "A Message to the People " will be released on cd as that is one of his best pieces of work. So "Rest in Peace" Mr. Miles you have passed on but your music will live forever!!
