Sammy Davis Jr. - The Song And Dance Man (1976)

Samuel George "Sammy" Davis, Jr. (December 8, 1925 – May 16, 1990) was an American entertainer and was also known for his impersonations of actors and other celebrities, an actor and singer. In addition to singing and dancing, Davis was able to play on the plethora of musical instruments. In 1954, he signed with Decca Records and released his first album, entitled like Starring Sammy Davis, Jr. in the same year Davis got involved in a serious car accident, lost his right eye. The accident has put the actor's career threatening, but in 1955, he returned to the stage. A new step in his career was the appearance in 1956, on Broadway in the musical "Mister Vanderful". In 1959, Davis also acted, composed of Frank Sinatra's Rat Pack, where he was the only black participant.  Primarily a dancer and singer, Sammy Davis Jr. started as a child vaudevillian who became known for his performances on Broadway and Las Vegas. He went on to become a world famous recording artist, television and film star.  Although he was still a draw in Las Vegas, Davis' musical career had sputtered by the latter 1960s. Sammy Davis Jr. made the most of his opportunity and revitalized his career. Although he enjoyed no more Top 40 hits, he did enjoy popularity with his 1976 performance of the theme songs from the Baretta TV series, "Baretta's Theme (Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow)" and "You Can Count On Me (Theme From Hawaii 5-0)", which they were released as singles, from the album "The Song And Dance Man (1976).
