Walter Trout Band - Breaking The Rules (1995)

After his record "Telling Stories" (1994) Walter Trout decided to take over more control in producing his next record and changing from Record Company. The change worked out pretty well. Full with creative and fresh ideas he came with "Breaking The Rules", one of his finest records.
Opening with a rather melodious "To begin again" Walter Trout comes with a first subtle, but then powerful and little furious "how much do you want". Not a song about an ex-girlfriend, but his previous record company. Trout comes with some of his nicest songs, like the gentle and beautiful, almost running 6 minutes "Surrounded by Eden" and the title track rocker with almost classic guitar riff "Breaking the rules". Great, powerful singing also.
With "Breaking The Rules" Walter Trout went into a creative and fresh direction. Compared with his predecessor Trout took a big step forward.
